Plan to cut subsidies of electricity bills faces resistance, even in the government

Roberto Lima gave details to Reuters about the consequences of the government’s plan to reduce the cost of electricity by cutting subsidies.

Roberto stressed that the battle between sectors for this benefit and the attempt by the Ministry of Mines and Energy to cut costs are symptoms of a dispute which is likely to become increasingly common in Brazil, due to the tightness of the federal budget.
