In the year it celebrates its 25th anniversary, new partners reinforce the firm’s strategic performance in the areas of Corporate Law and Governance, M&A, Dispute Resolution, Banking & Finance, and Capital Markets.
Cescon Barrieu begins the year by strengthening strategic areas of its practice with the addition of five new partners, four of whom are internal promotions and one is a new hire. The Corporate Law and Governance, M&A, Dispute Resolution, Banking and Finance, and Capital Markets teams gain more capacity, with reinforcements from the São Paulo and Salvador offices.
In 2026, Cescon Barrieu celebrates its 25th anniversary, consolidating its position as one of the leading law offices in the country. More than just one of the leading law firms in the country, the organization has evolved into a true Legal Intelligence Center, integrating technical excellence, strategic and regulatory vision, technology, economic insight, and a deep understanding of the sectors in which it operates. This model allows it to anticipate trends, map risks and opportunities, and offer legal solutions aligned with the real challenges of clients in a complex, dynamic, and sometimes volatile business environment.
Given this scenario, the firm continues to invest in strengthening its strategic areas with new partners who will further boost Cescon Barrieu’s multidisciplinary performance in these market sectors.
The new partners are:
Daniel Paiva (São Paulo): works in Due Diligence, Mergers and Acquisitions, Corporate Law and Governance, and Capital Markets. He has experience in legal auditing for M&A transactions and has been standing out in regulatory advisory for the betting and i-gaming sector.
Marcos Lopes (Salvador): works mainly in contractual and corporate disputes. Based in our Salvador office, the partner is part of the Dispute Resolution area.
Marianno Cunha (São Paulo): focuses his practice on Banking & Finance and Capital Markets, mainly in financing transactions and complex regulatory matters before the Central Bank and the CVM.
Rafael Bertão (São Paulo): works in the Dispute Resolution area, focusing on highly complex cases involving M&A and capital markets.
Vicente Gioielli (São Paulo): joins the firm to strengthen the areas of Corporate Law and Governance, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Capital Markets. He works in public offerings and private placements of equity and debt, transactions with publicly traded companies, private equity, corporate restructurings, and joint ventures.
Cescon Barrieu’s managing partner, Alexandre Gossn Barreto, points out that the move is part of the firm’s ongoing growth strategy.
“In 2025, we had the best performance in Cescon Barrieu’s history, reflecting the integrated work of various areas, always attentive to the needs of our clients, with decisions guided by legal expertise and data. For 2026, this will continue to be our mantra: to grow in an organized manner, offering comprehensive, sophisticated legal advice aligned with the challenges of a constantly changing business environment,” says the managing partner.
