IBA 2025

Last week, our multidisciplinary delegation attended the International Bar Association (IBA) Annual Conference 2025 in Toronto, Canada, to take part in strategic debates on the future of global law, further strengthening our position as a Legal Intelligence Center.

Our experts met with dozens of leading law firms from every continent, fostering a rich exchange of knowledge and perspectives on global trends that continue to shape the most strategic sectors of the economy.

Our expertise was also recognized internationally, with several of our partners invited as panelists in the official IBA sessions, contributing insights and forward-looking perspectives on key issues impacting the global legal scene

Gabriel Seijo was part of the panel “Democracy in crisis: what is the role of access to justice?” on 11/3. The debate addressed how equitable access to justice is essential to protect democratic values and ensure the rule of law.

Manoela Miranda participated in the session “Being a young lawyer in the age of AI” (11/5), addressing how the next generation of lawyers can balance the use of artificial intelligence with traditional skills and professional ethics.

Cinthia de Lamare participated as speaker on the panel “Creditor Cooperation Agreements (CCAs) and their mitigating effect on creditor-on-creditor violence in liability management transactions” on 11/6. The session of the IBA Insolvency Section examined how Creditor Cooperation Agreements can align interests and reduce conflicts in liability management transactions.

On the same day, Viviane Rodrigues was one of the panelists on “Addressing toxic behaviour in the workplace”, in which private practitioners and in-house attorneys discussed employment and compliance best practices on the matter, including the law firm environment.

In addition to the partners above, our delegation also included Alexandre Barreto, our Managing Partner, Daniel Mortati, Maurício Barros, Paula Azevedo, Paulo Macedo, Rafael Baleroni, and our Chief Strategy Officer Salo Rapoport.
