In an interview for Exame’s website, Luiz Di Sessa clarified what punishments are expected for those who produce and disseminate fake news. Although Brazil does not yet have any specific legislation, Di Sessa stressed that “it is possible to go to the civil court authorities and request that the contents be removed from the air by the provider through judicial authorization.” According to the specialist, the priority should be the education of citizens to differentiate when the information is not true.
